Mammals
Growing up in a home where the outdoors were second nature and scoping mountain sides for goats and sheep on drives up into the mountains was just “what you do”, I have been blessed to see so many wonderful parts of our natural world. While being raised and living still in Colorado, there are endless places to explore and animals in their most natural of habitats to observe. Elk bugling in the cold damp mornings down in the valleys, goats scaling the rocks up Mt Evans and deer wandering the backyard looking for the perfect tree to rub their velvet off on as they prepare for the fall rut. All these experiences and more draw me in to the excitement and beauty of their lives and habitat.
With every stroke of my brush, I draw on memories made yesterday and today to capture these amazing creatures we share this planet with. It is my hope that you are drawn into each piece as if you were there witnessing it yourself, or perhaps stirs memories which you have made on your own adventure through God’s amazing terrain we are privileged to call home.

Birds of the air
Birds have captivated me in art since I was a child. My earliest drawing from as far back as my first years of grade school spotlighted birds as their subject.
There is a freedom in a bird…the ability to fly high above us all. In what seems like endless energy, they flutter, soar, hop and sing. For example, The Northern Cardinal is able to sweep through more notes than are on a piano in just a tenth of a second, and every morning, the world comes to life with the chorus of birds. Every corner of the Earth is alive in music, be it different species, singing different tunes, it all harmonizes into the most glorious chorus of life.
As I have the opportunity to spend more and more time traveling and being in the field capturing these little characters in my mind and heart, it is my blessed privilege and hope to transfer onto canvas what I have witnessed with ear and eye. Just like us, God has created every little bird with its own amazing look and special little character and I hope that it is translated through my brush and brings you the greatest pleasure!
